What is NoDaRioty?

NoDaRioty is a grass-roots community effort, led by a committee of NoDa neighborhood residents, business owners, artists and patrons. Our vision is to preserve and grow the artistic and cultural identity of NoDa as The Arts District of Charlotte in the wake of rapid social and economic change.

NoDaRioty intends to achieve this vision through the following goals:

• To provide opportunities for collaboration between local artists and arts organizations resulting in the aesthetic and economic advancement of NoDa.
• To provide growth and exposure opportunities for emerging artists of all forms.
• To connect NoDa residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds with all forms of art in an
interactive and experiential way.
• To keep NoDa looking and feeling FUNKY.

NoDaRioty plans to achieve these goals through the following efforts:

• Increase artist presence in the streets of NoDa during gallery crawls, thereby making NoDa a
memorable experience for visitors and increasing future consumer traffic to the neighborhood.
• Partner with neighborhood businesses in the planning and promotion of neighborhood events
integrating all forms of visual and performance art.
• Plan, coordinate and implement public art projects resulting in permanent art structures throughout
the NoDa neighborhood.
• Conduct at least two public art fundraising activities per year.
• Pursue any government grant monies that may be available for this purpose.
• Serve as a communications conduit for local artists, organizations and businesses.
• Support the needs of emerging artists through the coordination of neighborhood venues,
promotions, communications and fundraising activities.
